I concur. Even if DD *knew* of Sirius' innocence, which, IMO, he did
not, what proof could he offer? He couldn't deliver a subpoena to
Wormtail and get him to testify. He could have used his own persona, I
suppose, but even he wouldn't have been able to do much with so many
muggle witnesses.
