It had always been my assumption that The Wealthy Man was Malfoy. 
That would be consistent with his having his financial finger in 
almost every major pie in the UK WW. Certainly, if he were close 
enough to LV to have possession of his school belongings, why not 
hold the Riddle House in trust for him as well?

If Malfoy is The Wealthy Man, then he could know of LV's bloodline.  
I don't think LV would have been willing to risk that.  I think DD is 
the Wealthy Man.
