I had thought this was more along the lines of a Confundus Charm.  Marietta was saying no when she should be saying yes, and vice versa.  We were introduced to the Confundus Charm in PoA where HP and HG were saying the opposite of what Snape and Fudge were saying.  Snape said Black had Confunded them.
