Karen adds:
JKR provide very clear distinct statements /clues on her website and 
not allowing the reader an ambiguous interpretation.  Not the JKR I 
love reading!  That's what makes her books so fun to re-read and this 
discussion group to be so active.

opportunity to praise JKR.)
