We have no indication that "facial condition" will
ever clear up. We can either surmise that it was a
brilliant bit of Magic by Hermione, or that the school
Nurse deliberately allowed the condition to remain
(with the poor student having no memory of why she has
it).
And, for the record, Marietta was "going along with
the crowd" when she didn't think she should when she
joined the D.A. We really don't know her thoughts
when she told.
