Why wouldn't she?  Lots of women start letters/journals/scrapbooks/photo albums/whatever for their babies practically the moment they find out they are pregnant.  Why would Mrs. Riddle be any different?

Because you're the one who stated that first, when you posted "...she couldn't have written to Tom..."  My response was that she *could* have, that's all.
