Now Cory:

The thing is, Hermione was trying to be nice and help Harry.  It 
ended up hurting him, but only because Snape destroyed Harry's first 
sample.  Had that not happened, Harry probably would have appreciated 
what Hermione did.  I suppose you could call it presumptuous; it's a 
little like starting to clean someone's dinner plate without first 
making sure they're finished eating.  It was a mistake, but I 
certainly wouldn't attach a great deal of significance to it in terms 
of Hermione's relationship with Harry.

Heh -- thanks for not taking offense to that comment; it sounded a 
lot snippier when I read it the second time than I intended when I 
wrote it.

You're probably right, although I have read much crazier leaps of 
logic on this board before.
