Welcome!!  A charm (amulet) shaped like a lightning bolt is a form 
of protection in Tibet. Also the wood used in Harry's wand is 
Holly.  Holly is the Symbol of Christ. Magical Properties of Holly 
include protection against bad fortune and lightning. So there might 
be some connection there.

Having said all of that, I think JKR has said that the shape of 
Harry's mark has no important meaning. She said that the fact that 
he has it is the most important part.
