GoF, page 531 (Sirius talking)...."Snape knew more curses when he arrived
at school than half the kids in seventh year, and he was part of a gang of
Slytherins who nearly all turned out to be Death Eaters."

Technically, it doesn't say Snape was IN Slytherin house, but that's
certainly what's inferred here, especially since we're given to believe
that most of the kids hang around with kids from their own houses.
