Just a thought.

If Fawkes died to save Dumbledore, does that mean Voldemort cannot 
kill Dumbledore because, like Harry, someone who loved him died for 
him?

I can see so many holes in this.

1) Fawkes is a Phoenix, not a witch or wizard
2) Fawkes comes back to life - he's not in Voldemort's wand
3) Having Dumbledore impervious to Voldemort makes for a rather 
   weak nemesis scenario. 

But I like the idea.
