Why Snape hates Neville

Snape doesn't seem to have much use for any Gryffindor student at 
all.  He doesn't have any patients, sympathy, or understanding for 
people who are weak and/or incompetent, which is how he sees 
Neville.  Basically Snape feels Neville is wasting his time, or 
perhaps not worthy of it.
