Not only that, but notice the answer relative to the question. The 
question was a pretty clear "yes or no" question but the answer was 
clever and simultaneously ambiguous. That is to say, there are a few 
ways to take it:

"Well, he's dead, so you won't hear from him again."
or
"Well, he's dead, which explains why you haven't heard much from him 
until now."
or
"Well, he's dead, so you may expect him to work in some undead capacity 
without attracting attention to himself."
