Hi Carol, good to see you ::waves::
Although the Harry Potter books aren't children's books, and JKR
writes for herself, I think she designed Hogwarts with a child's
heart. Think of it, if you were a schoolkid, wouldn't you prefer to
imagine a school that taught Charms, Potions, Transfigurations, etc,
rather than Literature, Algebra, Biology, etc.? As it is, Hogwarts is
just as terrible as a RL school, with mean teachers, homework and
standardised tests!
Also, from memory here, didn't Bagman say that Fudge spoke several
languages in OoP? There must be some school/training for that. (Or
one heck of a cool charm!)
Potioncat, now going to count her posts for today.
