I don't think Hermione tells her parents anything about the dangerous
side of the WW, and indeed tells them only what they need to know - in
GOF when she shouts at Rita Skeeter in the Hogshead "You horrible
woman" etc etc, Ron says "You don't want to go upsetting Rita
Skeeter. I'm serious, Hermione, she'll dig something up on you-"
Hermione's response is: "My parents don't read the Daily Prophet, she
can't scare me into hiding" (Chapter 24, P392 in English paperback)
