Or maybe the Grangers know more about what is going on than we
think...maybe they know of Hermione's importance in the whole grand
scheme of things to come...and know they have to let her do what she
is going to have to do alongside Hary Potter. I thought JKR made a
point to tell us that the Grangers were with Hermione in Diagon
Alley at the beginning of the 2nd book, which indicates they have at
least a passing familiarity/knowledge of the whole wizarding world.
