Shouldn't Snape have been thinking, "Hmm, here are 4 guys who
constantly go out of their way to make my life miserable. Now, one of
them says he's going to share their big secret with me. Right! How big
a fool does he think I am?"

The least he should have expected was that they were going to take his
wand, strip him naked, and use a binding curse to tie him to the WW. I
mean, what did he expect from a bunch of rowdy frat boys?
