this theory, in several forms, has been posted before.  I have even
posted it, but not as well-thought out and neatly summarized as your post.

I like to call it the TW!Snape - Top Wizard Snape theory, for a lack
of a better term, as no one has come up with one yet :)  so I did :) :)
