"For a second, Harry was on the verge of shouting a pointless
warning: He was sure that Voldemort's hand had twitched toward his
pocket and his wand; but then the moment had passed, Voldemort had
turned away, the door was closing, and he was gone."

So what to make of this? It appears that Harry felt Voldemort was
considering attacking DD and the line could have been included to
reinforce Voldemort's fear (respect) of DD's powers.

However, even on the first reading, I got the impression that perhaps
Voldemort was quickly swiping something, and of course, that something
could be a trophy for a horcrux, something of Gryffindor's or a
personal item of DD's--which I think Voldemort would really love to
have as his horcrux. Has DD ever talked about misplacing something?
