I'm rather under the impression that Neville will somehow betray 
Harry in one way or another, whether he does it conciously or not.  
There's a part in PoA in which Harry is imagining (this is prior to 
him finding out the truth about Sirius and Peter) Sirius killing 
Peter Pettigrew.  In his mind, he imagines that Pettigrew looks 
something like Neville Longbottom.  I can't help but think that JK 
was trying to drop a hint here.  Maybe it's just me
