I think I know why LV wanted to go back and teach at Hogwarts. It is 
not to find some artifact that belonged to one of the 4 founders, it is 
to make a horcrux out of the only thing that actually belonged to the 4 
of them..... Hogwarts itself. The school. 

And now that DD is away, he will be able to penetrate the school, and 
make a Horcrux of it. This is why Harry will come back to school in 
book 7. To fight LV and prevent him from making the last of hix 7 
Horcruxes.....
