I touched on this in a post a few weeks back; the "oho" was not
limited to Dumbledore. Though I unfortunately did not note where in
HBP it occurs, Hagrid uses an "oho" as well, I think fairly early in
the book. Do we therefore conclude that Hagrid was acting
uncharacteristically? Of course not. My guess is that the "oho" was
just one of those repetive tics that JKR had in her head during the
writing of HBP, nothing more.
