Let ESE!Snape gloat. "You silly old man, you've thought you have me in
your pocket all these years?" That would be the most convincing feature,
and the complete absence of it is conspicuous. Especially as we have
seen Snape with someone he hates and wants to see dead (Sirius in PoA)
and Snape sure took his time talking.
