But if this was true, it would be really awful from Dumbledore to hire 
all those other people. Dumbledore had hired a new teacher each year 
since Voldemort applied for the job. And the idea that "the epitome of 
goodness" does not want to sacrifice Snape, but is perfectly ready to 
get all those other people in danger does not sit well with me.
