I also noticed that Morfin greeted *everyone* in Parseltongue, and 
spoke no word of any other language. I think that he never learned to 
speak English, particularly considering how the Gaunt family used it 
as first language. Merope, however, did *not* speak parseltongue - 
but she did carry the ability to her son...
