Claudia:
There is another parallel: there was a subdivision of Hitler's 
SS-army, the "SS-Totenkopfverbande" (SS Deaths Head Organization) 
which was mainly responsible for guarding the konzentration camps. 
Their insignia was a scull on the collar of their uniform.
