  Andie:
  Wouldn't Neville's parents come before him.  Granted they are "supposedly"
  not sane enough to be of any help but they are alive which would not 
  make Neville the "one surviving descendant".  That is not to say that the
  Longbottoms are not Gryffindor's descendants.  Also, what about his
  grandmother? She is is father's mother, so again Neville isn't the last.
