If this would be the only evidence, there is no reason to safely say this.

Good points. But still, Rowling could come out with a big bang. Or rather a
small one to teach Harry a lesson, that Gryffindor is not THE House, only
one House.
I wrote a mail to the makers of the Harry Potter Lexicon, maybe they have
evidence we did not find by now. I will post the answer here.
