Well the house they were hiding in was protected by the fidelius 
charm, so LV wouldn't be able to get to them without the SK (Peter) 
blabbing anyway. I think it isn't a stretch to say that 12GP was a 
rather obvious place for the OotP to hide in too. Especially with 
Kreacher sneaking out to visit Narcissa during Book 5. But had non 
OotP members and those DD didn't tell about 12GP being OotP HQ came 
to check on the place they wouldn't be able to see it at all. I 
would think that had Bella or Narcissa or Lucius been by where 12GP 
was located and notice that the house had disappeared, became 
invisible, they would have known where OotP HQ was but still 
wouldn't be able to get to it.

Though, as one of our sharp member whose name I can't recall right 
now had mentioned before, there is the question of why no attempt by 
the DE's to ambush siege-style the vinicity that we know of yet.
