It may be that--at that moment--Snape was Neville's most *immediate* fear. After all,
Snape had recently frightened him by trying the potion on Trevor. If, instead that day
Neville hadn't had potions class, but had received a Howler from his grandmother, she
might have emerged from the wardrobe (and would he have put her into Snape's robes?)
Or, if he had faced the boggart on the morning after Professor McGonagall scolded him for
losing the passwords, it might have been her that emerged. I wonder what Neville's
boggart would be in HBP, since he didn't take Transfiguration or Potions.
