>From the first time I read the books years ago, the phrase "He Who Must Not Be Named" has always made me think of how, in Judaism, one does not ever pronounce the name of G-d. The way it's written out in Hebrew prayers and the word you say instead are not the same, like writing "picture" and pronouncing it "elephant."
Not to say that in the series, Voldemort is G-d. Although, since he's been resurrected . . . well, I'll let someone else handle *that* symbolism.
