Barmaid now:
Someone up thread, Geoff I think, already pointed this out but as it
seems to have come up again:
In PS/SS (pg 106 U.S. hardcover) Hermione says:
"Do either of you know what house you'll be in? I've been asking
around, and I hope I'm in Gryffindor, it sounds by far the best; I
hear Dumbledore himself was in it..."
This is obviously not definitive -- but it is a strong indication for
DD being a Gryffindor.
