I agree that we do not know what is going on between SS and DD. I 
personally believe that there might have been an unbreakable vow 
between SS and DD, in GoF with the pensieve, DD states to Crouch 
and the 'court' that he has not only said, but PROVEN to them that 
SS is trustworthy.
