Betsy:
The one place where I think JKR made an error was with Ginny.  Now, I 
love OotP's Ginny.  I like that she's athletic and outgoing and 
flirty - a nice balance for Hermione.  But she did come out of 
nowhere.  Rereading the books, it does become apparent that JKR had 
this personality in mind for Ginny from the beginning, but I think 
one or two bigger hints would have made the transition a little less 
jarring.  Just a scene or two of Harry walking in on her before she 
spotted him (like the Weasley picnic in GoF) so the reader has some 
idea of what Ginny is like without her big crush affecting her.
