of opinion on its effects.
I think that the Order is handicapped by many of its members being
impoverished/having low social status/being considered as criminals,
while the Death Eaters count rich and influential Pureblood
aristocrats among their numbers. I also think that some of the
suggestions as to what the Order might have done proactively to
counter Voldemort over the last 15 years do not take these things
sufficiently into account. Just my humble opinion, and all.
If I have read your response correctly you are suggesting that a
certain anonymity and ability to run on the wrong side of the tracks
without being noticed should help them. Both are perfectly
valid viewpoints, IMO, I just personally prefer the first.
This whole argument could be summarised in the question 'Does the end
justify the means?' I would suggest that those who think it does
probably find Dumbledore a poor general. Those that do not agree that
it does are likely to find him a satisfactory leader
