This is how I've interpreted it too -- Indeed, I've wondered if we can
infer from it that Dumbledore has no family (i.e. wife, kids) of his
own, no one that he would love more than the "greater good".
I'm bothered by the fact that he seems to be giving Harry mixed
messages -- Telling him that love is the power that is providing him
with defense against Voldemort, minutes after implying that
"fools who love" are putty in the Dark Lord's hands...
Or is my interpretation wide of the mark??
