When I was wondering if James's wand was destroyed, I was also 
wondering why James had left his cloak with Dumbledore.  In OoP, the 
cloaks seem to get passed around a lot depending on who needs them 
and for what purpose, so I was wondering who was using James's cloak 
and what they were doing with it.  Secret mission?  I don't think 
James handed it over to Dumbledore with the idea that he was going to 
be killed and wanted it to be kept safe.  Maybe James was using it 
himself and left it at the OoP headquarters prior to the incident at 
GH...

Just speculating...
