Pass the schmaltz, I agree. I don't think a book has to be all doom 
and gloom to be "good"  Doom and gloom has its place, but I hope it 
won't be in the HP ending.  Having said that, it's not that I would 
think JKR was horrible if that's what she's decided to do.

While I'm at it, I'm hoping Snape lives, but my expection of that 
outcome isn't as high.
