Kethryn now -
Supposition, mind you, but I would guess the paintings were talking about it
loudly enough to be overheard. It seems to me that some of the paintings
are horrible gossips (Lady Violet and the Pink Lady anyone? GoF) so it makes
sense that they would have spread the word, especially since none of them
particularly approve of Umbridge.
