Longbottom nod to Tolkein

My apologies if it's been mentioned before, but I was rereading LotR 
and realizeds that Tobold, the first known grower of pipeweed, was 
from Longbottom.  I wondered if by giving Neville the name Longbottom 
and a special talent for herbology, JKR might have been tipping her 
hat to Tolkein?  

Not that important, just something I noticed.
