Are JKR's interviews canon?

Well, not as canon as the books, but I'd take 
1) The 'Harry Potter and..' -Books as primary canon. (The ones in
British English standing higher than all others simply because that's
the language JKR wrote them - as well as the newest edition, in case
of corrections!)
2) the 'school books' for Comic Relief (and such) as secondary canon
3) JKR's website, her answers in interviews etc. (well, a bit more for
the website, as she can always update it in case she changes her mind.
Of course, she could be kidding or speaking in riddles or...)
