Welcome to HPforGU!  I don't really remember anyone saying much,
about Trevor, but it is an interesting theory.  And I see no reason  why 
it's not possible.  I think that there must be a reason that Neville  is 
the only person with a Toad in the school.  And I wouldn't worry too 
much about the fact that Scabers ended up being a human, we had
already seen Poly-Juice when fake Moody turned up at the end of  GOF.
JKR seems to like to reintroduce thing in her story's.  Perhaps Snape 
will finally make true to his promise to test one of Neville's potions 
(that is of course if he takes NEWT) on Trevor, and Neville  inadvertently
makes a cure for poor Trevor. Hmmm.. Maybe Neville will be a Healer 
after all!
