Dungrollin:
Now that story sounds oddly familiar... Substitute "tortured to
insanity" with "murdered by Voldemort" and "grandmother" with "aunt
and uncle"... So why doesn't Harry fear Snape more than anything
else?

vmonte responds:
Neville's grandmother loves him, but sees him as a disappointment.
So, naturally Neville has an inferiority complex. Harry's aunt and
uncle hate him, and see him as a freak. So, naturally Harry could
give a rats rear end what they think of him; he just wants them to
leave him alone.
