I know we have discussed this before. But I don't remember if anyone 
found this part from the book. I was rereading SS/PS on p.27 the 
scene with the snake. 

"Harry moved in front of the tank and looked intently at the snake. 
He wouldn't have been surprised if it had died of boredom itself-" 
etc. (Harry is thinking here not talking and then the Snake) "raised 
it head until it eyes were on a level with Harry's. It winked."

After that Harry hears the snake and talks to it. But notice the 
words. He LOOKED INTENTLY at the snake.  I think that this is our 
clue.  Yes he can speak Parseltongue, but he wasn't speaking then. 
He was only looking at the snake. But no ordinary look. Does he do 
this anywhere else??
