Hermione starts her remarks with "I suppose" and ends them with "won't
it?" It sound to me like she is just making conversation and trying to
make Harry feel better. To say she was unsure is an understatement. 
If you were Harry would that be enough to ignore your gut feeling that
there is something fundamentally wrong with those lessons?
