Yes, but he undergoes about twenty-five years of transformations
between the time he leaves Hogwarts in 1945 and the time he returns
ca. 1970. Dumbledore says that he was unrecognizable at that point. My
impression is that the Voldemort of VW1 looks exactly like at the
Voldemort end of Gof--when he has his body back. If he had been
handsome during VW1 and now looked like a snake, how would his
followers recognize him and why would they follow him? He must have
looked like a snake then, too.
