Actually, I think Snape is more like Boromir. Don't laugh! I mean, 
if Boromir had been allowed to live. Deeply repentant, horrified by 
what he had tried to do, but still envious, still desirous of glory, 
and still, no matter how much he tries to trust Gandalf, not at all 
convinced that putting all their futures  in the hands of a 
dunderheaded Gryff-- I mean, a witless Halfling, is a good idea.

LOL, Pippin! Some time ago I wondered whether Snape will have any 
similarities with Boromir and I REALLY want him to. But I disagree 
that we know for sure yet, since Snape's motives are unknown mostly. 
Unfortunately, I also see similarities with Gollum .

If Snape will be more like Boromir, the possibility of him being 
toasted incrreases significantly though.
