Yeah, he could have. It was only Harry's life he was risking, so
stupid of DD that he did not want to play with that because nice
clothes and a decent bedroom are far more important of course.

Well, maybe it might make a tiny difference that they would have to
put up with him for maybe a whole month before they could pack him off
to Hogwarts. Instead of seeing his dear little face every day of the
week for the whole year for years and years to come.
