Wow, Richard you are giving me a headache ;) . Every
time I think about time traveling it gets even more
and more confusing. But the way I see it (and it's a
bizarre theory), is that time is a loop, a ribbon that
has no end, and neverending cycle, right? So if htere
is no past, there is no future, AND if there isn't a
future there is no past. So if Sirius has no future
(after being kissed by a dementor), then he's got no
past (and present). It's kinda complicated, but if you
think of time as a LINE then you coul understand my
theory, if the line has no end it has no beginning.
Maybe Eistein could have explained it better ;)

Because he had to reach Hary and Hermione before
Sirius was kissed, because as I said before if Sirius
has no future (post-kiss), then there's no past Sirius
to save.

Lupin explained it to Harry after the Quidditch game
against Ravenclaw: The dementors are hungry, they
want, they need souls to feed on, so there was an
opportunity, and they wanted to take it, that's it.
