Sorting Hat, a Forgotten Relic

There was a time when I didn't trust the Sorting Hat.  The main 
reason is that I think the way students are sorted is a bad idea(not 
a logical reason, I know).  But I decided that I loved the Sorting 
Hat in OotP.  It basically said that it feared it would bring abou 
the end of Hogwarts.

I never had a problem with it considering putting Harry in 
Slytherin.  But then, I don't think Slytherin = evil.
