I think you're right! And maybe we'll see Ginny using precisely this
argument with Harry in book 7. 

After all, Albus made it *immensely* clear that the real difference
between Harry and Voldy was that Harry knew love, and kept real
friends. It's pretty instructive -- don't try to go it alone -- which
of course Harry is setting himself up to attempt.

P.S. I've lurked here for a *very* long time and found with this
latest book I couldn't wait to join in. Glad to have other grown-ups
to talk with about this wonderful bunch of stories!
